Handmade Christmas Gift Ideas - Gold Nugget (Imitation) Bookends

Aren't these the most creative way to use little rocks from your neighborhood? These imitation gold nugget bookends are wonderful gifts for men, women and children. The detailed tutorial is posted by Halligan at Design Sponge, at this link. It is all part of our ongoing series (9/21-12/24) of handmade Christmas gift ideas.

Talk about recycling! I really like how clear the tute is. Halligan clearly explains what type of rocks to look for, for the bottom row, the base. Everything about the painting is clearly detailed. Step by step photos are included.

Who wouldn't want a set of these? It doesn't matter whether they are holding up a small collection of story books, text books (college dorm gift!), action/adventure or sci/fi novels, cook books, reference books, craft books, or whatever - these really catch the eye and they do not damage the finances. They are incredibly easy as well.

How do people come up with these ideas? I really don't know but I surely do love that they share them with us.

For other projects in my series, just look along the right sidebar for the label "Christmas Gift Projects." I hope to post only tips that do not require knitting, crocheting, machine sewing, tatting, embroidery, or any other skilled technique.

If you are feeling too crushed for time to make your own gifts this season, check my Etsy shop for items for your gift list.
