Handmade Christmas Gift Ideas - Custom Decorate Mugs and More

Haven't you ever wanted to take a plain mug or cup and personalize it for a gift? Most of us wouldn't even know where to start. Tonight's post in our series (9/21-12/24) shares the link to a post that shows one way to do this.

The tutorial is probably the shortest one you'll ever see. That's because the technique is so simple. What makes this idea so unique, to me, are the tools that are used to decorate the cup.

This post is from Jessica's blog, HowAboutOrange, and her link is here.

If you are not handy with freehand drawing, the variety of stencils available today is awesome. You could personalize with the recipient's name, fave team, or whatever else your imagination can create. The products Jessica used to make this pencil cup holder will also write on other surfaces as well. Her tute also explains where she bought them.

For other projects in my series, just look along the right sidebar for the label "Christmas Gift Projects." I hope to post only tips that do not require knitting, crocheting, machine sewing, tatting, embroidery, or any other skilled technique.

Don't forget to enter my giveaway (deadline Oct 31) for $25 in handcrafted merchandise from my Etsy store.

You're welcome. I am discovering so many wonderful projects to tackle. And, I'm discovering many products I didn't know existed, and finding new uses for others I've already known about.
