Jesus as my Example for Dealing with Life's Daily Issues

About a week ago, I posted about how I love the acronym WWJD (What Would Jesus Do?). Tonight I was thinking about the many examples Jesus gave us for how to deal with life's daily issues.

There's hardly a problem that can come up that cannot be dealt with by following his example, or that of his holy family.

Growing up, he had to face moving to a new home when the danger to his early life was gone. He probably moved back to his own land, from Egypt, while he was reasonably young. This meant new friends, new language, new cultural adjustments. He had to see his family struggle to find a new customer base for his father's business.

He dealt with fatigue during his public life after long days of teaching the multitudes. He dealt with temptation while in the desert for his retreat. He handled unruly crowds who were stoning a woman to death without using violence himself. He showed he understood about hunger when he fed the crowds following him. And there are dozens and dozens of other examples I could easily call to mind. They can all help me deal with issues in my own life.

He spent what scholars agree to be about 33 years on this earth. That is a lot of good example he left for me to follow.

My trouble is in trying to recall that he completely understands what I am going through at any moment, having lived in his physical body during those years. I need to ask for help before the time is passed for that help to be of any use.

Sweet Jesus, you know so much about me and my life. You lived here, too, and experienced so much. Please whisper words of wisdom to me when I need them the most, special words that will help me get through each of life's troublesome situations. Jesus, I trust in you.
