Answered Prayers - Sense of Direction

I honestly believe that the reason some of us find our prayers answered is because we keep our eyes open to see those answers. We look for them. I know so many people who are blind to what they have received. I guess I am lucky - fortunate - blessed - or maybe just trusting and in love with the idea of hope and faith.

Anyhow, tonight was yet another example. I have, as most of you know, been in an extremely scary financial bind. I have also been tormenting myself trying to decide which things to focus on each day regarding bringing in some funds. I focus for an hour or two on those little online web-content articles I began writing, for almost pennies, about two months ago. Then I sit looking at my yarn stash and figure, "Hey, I've got my Etsy store; I should be doing more on that." Another hour or two, and I will try something else.

The articles bring in some food and/or gas cash. But they take a lot more time than expected. My crafted items, however, are already made and listed but sales have been slow for over a month. Which should I spend more time on right now?

I sat at the computer about three hours ago and asked the Lord that question. I didn't literally throw up my hands in frustration, but I came close.

Suddenly, I felt compelled to get out of my main email page and go to the one I use for business. Anything coming in from the articles broker or from my Etsy shop comes through the other one.

Lo and behold (corny, but it's how I felt), I saw a sale that had just come through for one of my Class Reunion Reports. Now, how is THAT for a quick answer? I guess you know which projects I'll be working on for a while. The Reunion Reports really need to be expanded. Right now, I'm only offering Class Reunion styles. It's time to begin to design some for Family and Military reunions, and other events as well.

The point is that sometimes we are frozen in the headlights of our own fear and apprehension. That's when we need to remember to turn our eyes upward, away from the blinding glare of worry.

Father, forgive me when I am too distracted by earthly worries to see your wise and wonderful spiritual guidance, your personal and specific solutions to my problems. Help me to always keep my eyes open for your direction, and help me to be willing to follow it.
