Our Favorite Sayings; His Special Words

I recently started noting some of our common, everyday sayings and phrases when I noticed that they actually come straight from the Bible. I had no idea just how many there were: maxims and proverbs (literally) and adages.

For example, the Golden Rule comes straight from the Bible. So does the phrase "the salt of the earth," and many more.

I'm going to try to start listing some over the next few days and weeks. Making this promise might get me back into the daily blogging habit. I truly miss it.

They will make great conversation starters, and are a fun way of "spreading the Word" and encouraging others to read the Bible, too.
