This last thought about men of faith and why I admire them is about groups of men of faith. Groups like the Knights of Columbus, and other such groups, are wonderful in that the men are similar to the early apostles who followed Christ. Some groups are very small, organized in one small church; other groups are quite large. The size doesn't matter; the mission and purpose of the group is what matters.
To me, the exciting part is that there are men out there who are not ashamed to love the Lord and follow the Commandments. Considering how often we see the bad side of our men today, in the media, over and over again, it is very reassuring to know that it is balanced by many, many good men. These men just aren't in the media forefront, and it's very good to know they are really out there, in the background, forming a stable and faithful foundation in our troubled world today.
I realize this is a short post, but it doesn't need to be wordy to get the point across.
Father, please bless these men who follow in the footsteps of your Son's disciples and who try, day after day in a harsh world, to do right by you.
