Our Differences, Our Strengths

Today, I was in touch with a new friend, actually someone I met through Etsy. We were talking about differences in people. Some of this post is part of what we discussed.

She has learned that even though I am up in years, I am still very much a multi-tasker. These days, however, I must take a break a bit more often, or else I become very clumsy, and I also forget things. Never mind keeping a list; these days, I sometimes forget to look at the lists. So I am not doing badly, just not as strongly as I used to do.

Meanwhile, this younger woman was feeling badly because she does not multi-task. She does things one at a time.

Regarding multi-tasking, I've done that since I was a little girl. However, both my sister and my nephew were always the opposite.

There is nothing wrong with only being able to do one thing at a time, so long as you know your "style" and you don't hurt yourself in any way by going against your own nature.

There is nothing wrong with either type of person, as I see it.

The world needs all kinds of people - fast and slow; multi-tasking and one-track; jack-of-all-trades and specialist; introverts and extroverts; thinkers and do-ers; - it all works out.

God seemed to know what he was doing in giving us each our own strengths, so do not allow yourself feel to feel badly about not being like someone else.

Father, thank you for our differences and our strengths; and for the strength in our differences!

I totally Agree Evie! I am a one thing at a time tasker out of necessity. Being deaf, its hard to do many things at once that most hearing people can do as each item takes a lot of my concentration :)

Have a wonderful day and watch your mailbox :)
