Crafting as a Form of Prayer

Recently, there have been more than the usual troubles in my life. A friend emailed me and said she’d keep me in her prayers, and she added that I was fortunate that I could rely on my crafting to help.

She was right. If I didn’t have crafts to do, it would be very hard to keep from making the troubles the center of my life. When that happens, it’s hard to see one’s way out of the quicksand.

With crafts to soothe and calm me, I often think of solutions while I am working with the rhythm of the stitches. It is truly a blessing.

Father, thank you for the sweet medicine of the crafts you have led me to learn.
