Serendipity

Today I actually went as far as getting out my WIP bag to pack. That’s progress.

I also helped the family friend who lives here with me, Jane. I gathered her supplies into one place so she can begin her holiday projects. As she explained to me, she’s 80 now, and her COPD slows her down, so she needs to start now. I noticed a box full of my “paper stuff” like bills and catalogs and junk. The box would be perfect for her supplies and I made the ultimate sacrifice of emptying it (de-cluttering part of one teensy area), and was pleasantly surprised to find a bag full of Spool-O-Ribbon, the ribbon I use for my plastic canvas crosses. I had just made a mental note that I badly needed some ribbon - I usually keep a stash of these crosses for quickie gifts and am totally out of them. I suppose God is telling me something - time to get busy on those, before anything else.

I realize that de-cluttering is definitely something I must do, and soon. And I know that as I do it, I will happily discover other “stashes” like the one I found this morning. I have treasures buried here, and I need to begin to find them.

Thank you, Lord, for leading me to the ribbon and I’ll take the hint and work on the crosses.
