Overcoming Boredom

Sometimes I get so bored with the same old patterns, but I find myself still picking them up, time and time again. I think I continue to choose them because I like them on one level. That might be because of ease, or speed, or quality of finished product, or just familiarity. It doesn’t matter. There are still times when the familiar becomes boring.

I’ve found that I can overcome that by just changing either the yarn, or color, or a few stitches. Sometimes I am really excited by the difference the change creates. There have been times when I never went back to the same old pattern in the same old way, but continued working with the changes I made.

Father, thank you for this streak of creativity you have blessed me with.
