Letting Go

I know I’ve written before about getting rid of some craft things that I no longer need or am interested in. My intentions were good. My intentions are always good. But my place is still cluttered. I honestly believe that at least one-third of my clutter is craft-related. It would cheer me a lot to pare down that much of the clutter. Also, it’s said that when we get rid of what we do not need, we give God the room to give us what we do need.

That said, I need some kind of motivator, something to get me moving.

I used to have the excuse that if I de-cluttered, I’d have nowhere to put the stuff I’m discarding until I can get rid of it. That’s no longer an excuse. A year ago, we put up a steel 10x12 shed on our mobile home lot. I still have enough room to stack quite a few totes of discards while either waiting to sell them or to donate them or whatever.

Also, this year, I’ve discovered both "craigslist" and Freecycle. These places are filled with people eager to buy handcraft items (craigslist) or to get them free (Freecycle). And, these folks will come within a day or so and pick them up.

And one of my biggest excuses was always that in the 115 heat here in the summer, my wimpy A/C unit did not make it cool enough inside to do that kind of rummaging through my stuff. Well, now it’s cooler here - all of 98. Here, that’s downright cool and some days, the A/C hardly runs at all.

So what’s my excuse now? I think I’ve run out of them. I think I need some outside help about now.

Heavenly Father, please fill me with the motivation and the desire to begin this task which I keep putting off; with your help, I can do it and do it right.
