Time for Thanks

When I look back, I see a lot of my posts are about things I want to change about myself, things I want for myself, myself. I think I noticed only one post in the past 3 months that concerned thanks for the things God has given me when I prayed for them.

This blog, itself, is a blessing. It forces me to look at my life each time I post to it. Some people are afraid to look at themselves. They call it “beating themselves up.” It doesn’t have to be that severe. It is necessary to see where we’ve gone wrong so that we can go forward. So, I give thanks for continued help from God, for ideas for these posts.

Among the many prayers I’ve directly and indirectly mentioned here, I have seen positive answers to the majority of them. They weren’t always answered as soon, or as clearly, as I wished, but they were definitely answered in the ways I needed. But I’m not so sure that I thanked God for those answers. This, then, is also a thank you for answered prayers, no matter how small.

This is also a plea for continued help from the Lord God, that I may continue to have humility and gratitude enough to thank him more often than I do now.

Dear Father, bless me, please, with the grace to be grateful for what you have given me.
