The Feel of Crafted Things

I realized recently that I love the feel of handcrafted things and the feel of the materials while I am working with them. I work with yarn, crochet thread, some plastic canvas and satin ribbon. Sometimes, I work with other materials for little novelties I make. I can easily imagine what it must feel like to work with wet clay to sculpt a project, or with beads of all shapes, with different strands of hand woven threads on a loom, and with other materials.

I love to feel the softness of pretty things like doilies, neck scarves, and sweaters. I love to feel the stability and strength of purses, rugs, and baskets.
Working with my hands is a delight for my sense of touch.

Thank you, God, for my senses, including the joy I feel with my hands.
