I love to share my thoughts on crafts. The Internet is a perfect tool and blogs are an easy way to share. Because it is an Internet-based tool, it would be silly if I didn’t share my thoughts on the many ways to get and find freebies on the Web.
It’s worth the time to visit the websites for major craft supply stores and chains. Annie’s Attic, Michaels, JoAnn’s, Hobby Lobby, and others. But plan to spend some time. AnniesAttic.com has a new free pattern daily. The craft might vary - crochet one day, knitting, another day. Hobby Lobby has a ton of free projects, including a great fabric yo-yo Christmas Tree. Joann.com has free projects galore. Just click on Projects & More at the top of the Home page. DIY also has free craft ideas on their website.
Check the Internet to see if there is a website for your favorite brand of supplies. You might be pleasantly surprised. Many yarn manufacturers have free projects, as do craft supply stores like S&S and Sunshine Crafts. Find free craft projects with the link on this blog - click on Craftbits, and you will be dizzy with delight. Over a thousand projects, all types of media, all levels of skill, and all are free.
It’s also fun to get free supplies or organizers. Subscribe to your local Freecycle group, and you’ll occasionally see offers for craft supplies, absolutely free. Craigslist also has a Free category.
Everyone likes a good deal, and they don’t get any better than “free.”
