Sometimes we want to try a new craft and it just seems too overwhelming. Hey, I’ve been there too many times to list here. I have found, however, that if I look for patterns, designs, or instructions that are geared to a child, I can manage to learn a new skill or technique a lot more easily.
These days, we are blessed with the Internet. If you are reading this on your computer, then you are doubly blessed because you can personally search for your answers and you do not need to try to explain to someone else what you need.
Try a search under “children’s crafts,” “kids crafts,” “craft projects for kids,” plus the word “free.” Those alone will yield enough to keep you busy for a long while. Even though the projects listed on these sites are for kids, with a few extra moments, you can scan the offers and find some that will be suitable for adult gifts as well.
If you have a specific craft in mind, just enter the word. Also enter either pattern, design, project, instructions, or directions, the word “kid” or “child,” and the word “free.” I have adapted many a child’s pattern to wonderful novelty or serious gifts for adults or kids.
If I find I like a project or type of craft that I found on a child’s page, I start looking for more involved designs or patterns, and I’ve added to my skills painlessly.
