Been Trying to Keep my Mind Off Tomorrow

I'm not one to dwell on things longer than the initial onset of a problem. But I noticed that as I got closer to tomorrow's test at the retina specialist's, I puttered around in here almost constantly. That's not a bad thing, but it's interesting to me.

For example, yesterday I headed out to the store early and also dropped off some paperwork to our park office. I did have a few things to get, including cat food, which truly was important.

I also made sure to take time to call my insurance agent. We changed home insurance carriers. Or at least those of us in the park who formerly used one carrier (which pulled out of NV recently) had to find a new one. I've received the plan, made the initial down payment (hate those larger "first payment" amounts) and knew the first regular one was due this month. So I called and verified the new date and amount. I know the paperwork will come along the way, but knowing I might have a stiff co-pay because of the test tomorrow, thought I ought to at least know some of what was in store.

I have also needed a stick vacuum and finally saved enough Swagbucks points to do that. It should arrive Friday afternoon. It will do a better job on the lightweight litter pebbles, dust and fur, than what I've been using. And it comes apart to use other ways. I finished what I lovingly call my "endless scarf" for the homeless. Will tell you about that this week - it's really a funny story and crocheters or knitters will understand. I then began some gloves, too, for the homeless. My one shower head insists on a slight drip even after being turned off so I promised myself to dip it this weekend and see if that helps.

And I packed the cottage cheese I picked up in the morning into 6 little containers for a quick protein boost for a few days.

Today, I made coffee for 3 days, and my veggie omelet for 6 days. A friend needs some things for their local 4H group, so I spent some time hunting and gathering in here for her to pick up Friday afternoon. I also finished that pair of gloves I began yesterday.

I had noticed a post on Freecycle early this morning by a fellow who wanted a shop vac. I emailed him back asking if that was the same as a wet/dry vac and he said "yep." I went out to the shed and found our old one. Hasn't been used in over 7 years, and he was coming this morning - told him the box it was in, and the equipment, was lightly powdered with Vegas dust and I didn't have time to clean it and suggested he not wear a tux to pick it up. Anyhow, I loved that he arrived and got it when he said he would.

There were some other little things I did along the way. And now it is time to rest for the night. A friend will pick me up in the morning and bring me home tomorrow. The doctor said I should be able to drive myself, but hey, I am not going to chance it. I could take the free insurance ride but this gal and I have done this before and she is calmer than I am, more relaxed, so I will arrive there nice and stable. Cool.
Time to turn in... tomorrow's another day.
