Last Sunday I delivered our monthly newsletter to over 40
homes in here. I write and edit and print it and staple it. Then about half a
dozen of us split up the routes and walk them to each home and rubber band them
to posts or railings. So at least once a month, I am motivated to walk a bit.
It's hard on the knee but I can pace myself.
I waited quite a few days to hear from a friend who was
willing to lend me the funds to pay for the latest in my car repair issues. He
did drop it by on Friday and I ran the car over to the mechanic immediately.
Got the car back Saturday before Noon. I'm thinking I'd better get it smogged
tomorrow before something else happens.
During the week, I also finished some plastic canvas cross
"necklaces" for a friend of a friend. In a week or two, those will be
picked up.
On Wednesday, our local news channel, Channel 8, aired an
interview they did over a month ago with our charity crafting group. They did
this in two visits to our Clubhouse. On the 2nd visit, they gave me, as the
originator of the group, an award and also some cash. That was a blessing that
enabled me to give much of it to the ladies in my group and also pay the
February bills on time.
A side effect of that broadcast is that so far, 9 folks have
asked to be contacted so that they can bring us yarn donations. One gal stopped
by on Friday and blew our minds - it was like Christmas for us, dividing up our
bounty and it will keep us going for a while with our projects for the local
needy. I have to contact all the others this coming week.
Today, I made a crock put full of chili and managed to pack
away 9 containers in the freezer for future meals. Oh, how I love my crock pot
and what it can do.
Yep, it was a busy week but a good one in many, many ways.
As soon as the TV interview goes up (between now and Wednesday) as a video,
I'll let you know where you can watch it. That fellow with the camera made us
look like our fingers were flying with those hooks and that yarn that day.
Can't wait to see what this week brings but I do hope it all happens just a little more slowly. Some days I couldn't even figure out what I was supposed to be doing next.
