For one, a
dear friend and former co-worker has a loved one who just fell and broke both
hips. My friend just told us tonight that his partner also presented with
walking pneumonia. Neither of them saw any symptoms, and had no idea it was a
problem. I am grateful that, even though the broken hips are a major issue at
his age and with his other medical conditions, they discovered this additional
problem. He is in the hospital and ready to go to a rehab center. He will get
treatment and therapy for the fractures, but he will also be treated for the
pneumonia, a blessing in disguise. My heart and my prayers go out to them.
Another
dear friend has a beloved pet kitty who is now sneezing quite a lot. She is
worried. The couple does not have the money for vet visits, and both she and
her DH both have medical issues themselves which make it hard for them to even
get to a vet, let alone pay for one. I'm praying tonight for them, and their
kitty, as well.
Another
neighbor lost her husband yesterday. I pray for her, for all that she faces
with paperwork, details, and the loss itself. Death is a fact of life, always,
but it is especially visible in a senior community such as ours.
I'm still
worried about two ladies who lost their husbands in December. The paperwork
eventually dwindles to a trickle of work. That is when the pain of the loss
really sets in. My heart is with them both.
I picked up
some food at a senior food distribution center on Wednesday and met a gal with
a grown son who has MD. She has a lot to deal with, aside from the care giving.
She is on my mind tonight.
A woman who bought my Busy Person's Prayer Book emailed me. She is concerned that she might have lost faith because of troubles she is facing. She's in my heart as well. I think she has more faith than she realizes. Just buying this type of book, no matter whose book it was, shows that she is concerned and that counts with the Lord, I am certain, as faith.
And these
are just a few...so many people, so many needs and hurts, so little we can do -
except to pray.
And pray I
will, with all my heart...always.
Father, from my heart to yours. Let your compassion and mercy bless these people abundantly with all the grace and strength and wisdom and peace that these people, and their loved ones (including pets) need.
